Mental Health & Wellbeing

YCSA gives young people (and parents/carers of young BME young people) a safe space to come and speak to trained counsellors about anything that is affecting their life. Our free counselling and wellbeing service is available here in our office and in different schools around the city where possible.

Our counsellors have a very good understanding of the issues happening in the local communities of BME people here in Glasgow; and tailor their approach specifically towards service users utilising multiple techniques such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), person centred therapy (PCT), integrative therapy, relationship counselling and mindfulness (among others).

Our cognitive behavioural therapists adhere to the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy) code of ethics. Our person-centred therapists adhere to the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and are also COSCA trained.
