Senior pupils from Hollybrook Academy, Glasgow, recently took part in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI), an active citizenship programme funded by The Wood Foundation. YPI empowers young people to learn about social issues in their communities and compete for a £3,000 grant, which is awarded directly to a local charity of their choice.
With the support of their teacher, Ms Auy, the pupils researched local charities and presented their chosen cause to the whole school alongside three other project teams. After hearing all presentations, pupils and staff voted for the project they felt made the strongest case for support.
We are delighted to share that the team who presented on the work and impact of YCSA received the highest number of votes, securing the £3,000 grant for our organisation.
YCSA would like to extend our sincere thanks to the young people for their confidence in the service we provide, and to Hollybrook Academy for their commitment to encouraging active citizenship and social responsibility among pupils.
The cheque was formally presented to the Chair of YCSA on 18 December 2025. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our links with the young people and staff at Hollybrook Academy in the future.
